To create awareness regarding climate change and the importance of increasing green cover.  4. To encourage community participation in protecting natural resources and biodiversity.  5. To contribute towards achieving SDG 13 (Climate Action) and SDG 15 (Life on Land).

Brief Report of the Event (About 200 Words)

On the occasion of World Environment Day 2026, the Department of Community Medicine and AIMS NSS Units 1 & 2 organized Tree Plantation Drives at Nelligere Circle and AIMS Campus on 05 June 2026. The programme was conducted in collaboration with the Range Forest Office, Nagamangala, and the Taluk Legal Services Committee. At Nelligere Circle, the event was graced by Sri Narashima Murthy, Civil Judge, Sri H.S. Shivaraj, Sri Samapth Patil, Range Forest Officer, and Sri Ravikumar, Police Inspector. Faculty members, NSS volunteers, MSW students, postgraduate students, and officials actively participated in the plantation activity. A separate plantation programme was organized at AIMS Campus in the presence of Pujya Sri Sri Satkeerthinatha Swamiji, Dr. C.K. Subbaraya, Registrar, Adichunchanagiri University, and Sri B.K. Umesh, Finance Officer, ACU. The dignitaries emphasized environmental conservation, climate action, biodiversity protection, and sustainable living. Saplings were planted to increase green cover and promote ecological sustainability. The programme successfully created awareness among participants regarding environmental stewardship and community responsibility toward preserving natural resources.

Feedback Analysis (Brief)

Feedback received from participants was highly positive. Students and volunteers appreciated the opportunity to contribute directly to environmental conservation. Participants reported increased awareness regarding climate change, biodiversity conservation, and the importance of tree plantation activities.
