AMBKCCON 2024: Inauguration Report: 12.30 pm 11th July 2024

The inauguration of the conference was honored by the presence of His Holiness Parampoojya Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Dr. Nirmalanandanatha Mahaswamiji, the 72^nd Pontiff of Sri Adichunchanagiri Mahasamsthana Math and Honorable Chancellor of Adichunchanagiri University (ACU). The Event was graced with the presence of Dr. M. A. Shekar, Honorable Vice Chancellor of ACU; Dr. C. K. Subbaraya, Registrar of ACU; Dr. M. G. Shivaramu, Dean Faculty of Health Sciences (Medical) at ACU and Principal of Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS); and Dr. K. M. Shivakumar, Chief of Hospital/Medical Superintendent at Adichunchanagiri Hospital & Research Center (AHRC). In addition, the event was dignified with the presence of Dr. Poornima Manjrekar, AMBKC Secretary; Sri B. K. Umesh, Registrar of AIMS & Finance Officer at ACU; Dr. Kiran M. Naik, Vice Principal, Professor and Head, Department of ENT at AHRC; Organizing Chairman Dr. Aliya Nusrath, Vice Principal, Professor and Head, department of Biochemistry at AIMS; and Organizing Secretary Dr. Asharani N., Professor in the Department of Biochemistry at AIMS.

Session Highlights

The inauguration was attended by over 150 delegates from more than 50 medical institutions across the state and country. The Proceedings began with a reverberating recital of the Veda Ghosh by the Sanskrit students of the Sri Adichunchanagiri Mahasamsthana Math. This was followed by the Naada Geetha and an invocation performed by Ms. Sandhya Krishnakumar and Ms. Sanjana S. Iyer, second-year MBBS students at AIMS. Dr. Aliya Nusrath, the Organizing Chairman, gave the welcome address, warmly greeting all the dignitaries present at the conference. Following her address, the ceremonial lamp was lit by the dignitaries on stage, marking the official commencement of the event.

The initial remarks were delivered by Dr. M. G. Shivaramu, Dean of Faculty of Health Sciences (Medical) at ACU and Principal of the AIMS. The keynote address was conveyed by Dr. M. A. Shekar, the Honorable Vice Chancellor of ACU. The AMBKCCON 2024 Souvenir was released by His Holiness Parampoojya Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Dr. Nirmalanandanatha Mahaswamiji, Honorable Chancellor of ACU, along with other dignitaries on the dais. Dr. Poornima Manjrekar, AMBKC Secretary, was Valued and blessed by His Holiness Parmapoojya Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Dr. Nirmalanandanatha Mahaswamiji. Dr. Poornima Manjrekar then addressed the gathering briefly, sharing her insights and gratitude. The recipient of the prestigious Dr. Jayaprakash Murthy Memorial Oration Award, Dr. Gurupadappa, Professor and Head of the Department of Biochemistry at Shivamogga Institute of Medical Sciences, was also Graced and honored by His Holiness Parmapoojya Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Dr. Nirmalanandanatha Mahaswamiji.

The inauguration ceremony continued with His Holiness Parampoojya Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Dr. Nirmalanandanatha Mahaswamiji offering the ashirvachana (blessings) for the conference and he provided his valuable insights into the importance of medical research in India. Dr. Asharani N., the Organizing Secretary and Professor in the Department of Biochemistry at AIMS, concluded this part of the inauguration with a vote of thanks.

The entire inauguration was moderated by Dr. Yashas BP and Dr. Gayatri Brahmanandam, interns at the Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences. The ceremony concluded with a group photo featuring His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Dr. Nirmalanandanatha Mahaswamiji, the dignitaries, and the delegates in front of the BGS auditorium.
