Brief report of the event (in about 200 words)

The Department of Community Medicine conducted a Community-Based Health Checkup and Awareness Program on 24 September 2026 at BCM Hostel, Jawarnhalli. The program was organized with the aim of providing basic health screening and creating awareness about preventive healthcare among the community. Dr. Sujean J. N. and Dr. Parashuram, Postgraduates from the Department of Community Medicine, coordinated the activity with the support of interns Dr. Suhas B. S., Dr. Sujaya, Dr. Ramkrishna T. M., and Dr. Rathan Chellur T. S. Ravikumar, Health Worker, CHC Bellur, and the hostel warden also supported the program.

A total of 65 participants attended the event. Health checkup activities were conducted to assess the general health status of the participants and to identify individuals requiring further evaluation. Health education was provided on healthy dietary practices, personal hygiene, physical activity, prevention of common illnesses, and the importance of regular health checkups. Participants were encouraged to seek timely medical advice and utilize available health services when required. The interaction with the community provided an opportunity to understand common health concerns and reinforce preventive health practices. Overall, the program promoted health awareness, early identification of health problems, and appropriate healthcare-seeking behaviour.

Feedback Analysis (brief)

The participants expressed that the health checkup and awareness program was useful and informative. They appreciated the opportunity to undergo a basic health assessment and to receive health-related guidance in a community setting. The awareness session helped participants understand the importance of healthy lifestyle practices, personal hygiene, balanced nutrition, regular physical activity, early identification of illness, and timely consultation with healthcare providers. The interactive nature of the program encouraged participants to clarify their health-related concerns and seek appropriate advice. Overall, the feedback indicated that the program was relevant to the needs of the community and contributed to improving awareness about preventive healthcare
