Dr. Nandhakumar V, Associate Professor, Department of Paediatrics, Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), was invited as a Speaker at the “Kaveri Pedicon 2026” – 2nd Annual Multi-District Pediatric & National South-Zone Medico-Legal Conference, organised by the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP), Mandya, at Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS), with AIMS serving as the co-host institution. He delivered an excellent and insightful academic talk on “Paediatric Leg Pain”, presenting a systematic, case-based clinical approach to the evaluation of limb pain in children, which was well received by the delegates. In addition to his academic contribution, Dr. Nandhakumar displayed great enthusiasm and team spirit by participating in the cricket match organised as part of the conference, representing the AIMS Paediatrics team under the aegis of Adichunchanagiri University (ACU), thereby strengthening camaraderie among delegates. He was felicitated by the organisers in recognition of his valuable contribution to the conference.

Brief Report of the Event (in about 200 words)

Dr. Nandhakumar V, Associate Professor, Department of Paediatrics, AIMS, participated as an invited Speaker at the Kaveri Pedicon 2026 Conference held on 8th–9th August 2026 at MIMS, Mandya, organised by IAP Mandya with AIMS as co-host institution. He delivered an excellent and engaging talk titled “Paediatric Leg Pain”, focusing on the clinical approach to children presenting with lower-limb pain. His session emphasised the importance of a detailed history – onset, duration, location and pattern of pain – along with a focused physical examination to identify clinically significant findings. Particular emphasis was placed on recognising warning signs suggestive of underlying musculoskeletal, inflammatory, or infectious conditions, and on exercising sound clinical judgment regarding investigations and referral. The talk was highly relevant to everyday paediatric outpatient practice and was well appreciated by the delegates for its clarity and practical orientation. Beyond his academic contribution, Dr. Nandhakumar demonstrated great enthusiasm and sportsmanship by representing the AIMS Paediatrics team in the cricket match organised as part of the conference, fostering camaraderie among delegate institutions. In recognition of his valuable contribution, he was felicitated by the organisers during the conference.
