Brief Report of the Event
|
The Department of Community Medicine, Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), in association with the AIMS NSS Unit, Taluk Health Office, Nagamangala, and CHC Bellur, organized a Population Health Awareness Programme on the occasion of World Population Day – 2026 on 17 July 2026 at ALK PU College, Bellur. The programme was conducted under the global theme, “Realizing the hopes and aspirations of young people – today and for the future.” The awareness session was delivered by Dr. Narayan Murthy, Taluk Health Officer, Nagamangala, and Dr. Lakshmikanth N., Medical Officer, CHC Bellur, who highlighted the importance of population health, adolescent health, reproductive health, family planning, and sustainable development. Community Medicine faculty, postgraduate students, Medico Social Workers (MSWs), Medical Interns, Health Inspectors, and NSS volunteers actively participated in the programme. Students enthusiastically participated in Essay Writing and Debate Competitions, demonstrating their understanding of population-related issues and public health. Winners of both competitions were awarded prizes in recognition of their outstanding performance. The programme successfully enhanced awareness regarding population health, promoted communication skills, and encouraged youth participation in building a healthier and sustainable future.

|
